Dance Day Festivals

I had the chance to be – with Alexandra Rab-Kuti – the artistic director and organiser of two Dance Day Festivals in Pécs, in 2017 and 2018.

The festivals aimed to connect professionals to amateurs, to open up different classes, performances for the public for free! We built connections through the universal art of movement! We intended to make the new and young generation meet the experienced and to create a space and forum to share our knowledge with each other. We projected dance films and held conversations with artists too to be able to connect the public to the art they saw.

Teachers we invited:

Kinga Szemessy, Dorottya Podmaniczky, Júlia Vavra, Alexandra Rab, Flora Veres, Eszter Gál, Dávid Mikó, Valentina Spanicsek

Choreographers, performers on the festivals:

Dóra Podmaniczky, Júlia Vavra, Alexandra Rab, Flora Veres, David Mikó, Réka Szabó – Dóra Furulyás – Dániel Szász – The Symptoms; Csilla Nagy – Mátyás Tóth – Cipolla Collectiva; Eszter Gál, Urvi Vora, Kinga Szemessy, Dance schools from Pécs

Partners and supporters:

Janus University Theater, Pécs; Apáczai Cultural Center, National Cultural Fund, Értékmegőrző // SAFE Studio, Oberon Company; Szabadkikötő, Pécs; Pécs City Hall; Dynamite Dudes; No Booking; Fordan TáncCentrum, Sada Dézsi, Joel Gyenes and many more.
