It is an ongoing group improvisation research series that aims to dig into the unknown through community, common understanding with the tools of the body: movement, sound, voice.
With all our senses we connect to ourselves and to the group. We all know our common goal where we are going but the way we get there is unknown, temporary and always new. It is a two-directional travel: we travel inside, deeper to ourselves, experiencing new layers while we are traveling outside, getting to know the group and learning to melt in it.
Instinct Body Training started (with another name first) in 2017, instinctively. I intend to melt what I learnt and experienced so far into a new tool that can be a base for group creation, artistic self-development and performative skills. I use as an inspiration, amongst others, the works of: David Zambrano, Renan Martins de Oliveira, Anna-Marie Blink, Sten Rudstorm, the technique and book of Ruth Zapora: Action Theater and my own research ideas and principles of ‘Lava-land’ titled site specific dancetheater etud made back in 2015.
